In their previous encounter in Miami in 2022, Alcaraz needed a final set tie-break to overcome Kecmanovic, but this time around, he dominated every aspect of the rematch, setting up a quarter-final clash with Alexander Zverev in Melbourne. He noted the marked difference from their previous match, emphasizing that he started better and played at a higher level.
