Victor Lindelof, Hannibal Mejbri, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have had their contracts extended by Manchester United. Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial are now negotiating their futures.

In his second season at Old Trafford, Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag is honing his team, and he has approved the extensions for midfielder Hannibal and defenders Wan-Bissaka and Lindelof.

“At a press conference on Thursday, we activated the options on Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, and Hannibal,” Ten Hag stated.

Varane and Martial’s futures at the club are less certain than those of Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, and Hannibal.

Although Martial’s current contract with Manchester United expires in the summer, the team has the option to extend it by an additional year.

Varane’s status as a member of the team remains uncertain. The former France international stated his contract was valid through the summer of 2025 when he arrived from Real Madrid in 2021.

But, as The Athletic reports, “Varane’s contract at Manchester United is set to expire a year earlier than previously publicized, meaning he could become a free agent in the summer.”

“We are talking with Anthony Martial and Rapha Varane,” Ten Hag stated.

“There is an internal conversation going on between the player and the club.”

Ratcliffe was spotted in Manchester, and Ten Hag verified that constructive discussions had been held with the British INEOS personnel.

The Dutch coach remarked, “We had a long meeting, many hours we sit together, many issues we were on the same page.” It was a productive meeting with great feedback from both parties, and we look forward to cooperating.

“It seems like a little time has passed since the announcement of the transaction, and we also need to give it some time to settle down. They are just now arriving, presenting themselves, and they have some excellent ideas. We need to see what we can work together on, and after a day, it won’t be evident to everybody.

“They have shared a few (ideas) with me. We have discussed approaches and tactics, and I believe we will work things out.”

Ten Hag will be concentrating on the FA Cup third round and his trip to Wigan on Monday, despite the distractions off the field.
