Equatorial Guinea national team’s forward, Emilio Nsue, has made history at the Africa Cup of Nations by becoming the most prolific player to score a hat-trick in the tournament. This remarkable achievement occurred when Nsue was 34 years and 110 days old.

Playing for the Spanish club Intercity in the third division, Nsue secured this milestone by scoring three goals against Guinea-Bissau. His noteworthy performance played a significant role in his team’s victory with a final score of 4-2, with Nsue finding the back of the net in the 21st, 51st, and 61st minutes.

Additionally, Nsue accomplished the first hat-trick in the AFCON in 15 years and 362 days. The previous instance of a player scoring three goals in a single match in the tournament was Soufiane Alloudi from Morocco, who achieved this feat in a game against Namibia in January 2008.

After two rounds, Equatorial Guinea has accumulated four points. Their upcoming and final group-stage match will be against Ivory Coast.
