Reims Parts Ways with Manager Will Still Amid Winless Streak
Stade de Reims announced on Thursday the departure of manager Will Still (31) by mutual consent, marking the end of his tenure with the Ligue 1 side.
Still made headlines last season by becoming the youngest manager in Europe’s top five leagues at just 30 years old when he assumed the helm at Reims. His appointment came with the club facing a fine of 25,000 euros per match until he commenced his UEFA Pro coaching licence course.
Under Still’s leadership last season, Reims enjoyed a remarkable 19-match unbeaten streak. However, the team’s recent form has seen a downturn, with three consecutive losses, including a 4-1 defeat to bottom-placed Clermont Foot last Sunday. Currently positioned 11th in the table, Reims has struggled to secure a victory since March.
Expressing gratitude for Still’s contributions, club chairman Jean-Pierre Caillot stated in a press release, “We take pride in having played a role in the development of a coach who has successfully implemented his beliefs and distinctive style of play.”

In response to his departure, Still, who was born in Belgium to English parents, conveyed his appreciation to everyone associated with Reims. “I will always remain the staunchest supporter of the Rouge et Blanc,” he affirmed.
With 40 points from 31 matches, Reims now gears up for their upcoming fixture against third-placed Brest on May 10th.
