Real Madrid is eyeing the young Everton defender

Real Madrid is keeping a close watch on Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, according to reports from the Daily Mail. With a keen interest in securing a new center-back during the summer transfer window, the 21-year-old defender is under consideration by Real Madrid and is also a potential pick for Gareth Southgate’s upcoming England squad.

Despite attracting attention from Manchester United and Tottenham, Real Madrid may have an advantage in the race for Branthwaite due to his prior connection with coach Carlo Ancelotti. Ancelotti, having given Branthwaite his debut during his tenure at Everton, remains familiar with the young player. Real Madrid’s pursuit of a center-back is intensified as they plan for the recovery of Eder Militao and 31-year-old David Alaba from anterior cruciate ligament injuries.

Talks with Gallagher by Poch

Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly engaged in discussions with Conor Gallagher regarding the midfielder’s future at Chelsea, as per the Mirror. With a potential sale in January for Financial Fair Play (FFP) reasons, Tottenham, long-time admirers, are hesitant due to Chelsea’s £50 million valuation.

According to the Mirror, despite having 18 months left on his current contract, the 23-year-old desires to remain at Stamford Bridge. However, Chelsea may consider selling him as they aim to reinforce their squad in January. Pochettino sees Gallagher as a crucial part of his plans, and the midfielder, who has deep ties to the club, has even captained the team on occasion.

While Gallagher expresses a strong desire to stay, uncertainties persist amid Chelsea’s ambitions under Pochettino’s leadership, which are focused on winning silverware.
