Mbappé would like to compete in the Olympics. The French team’s head coach does not object
Paris Saint-Germain’s forward, Kylian Mbappé, has expressed his interest in participating in the upcoming Olympics in Paris this summer, according to Tony Estanguet, the president of the organizing committee for the 2024 Olympic Games. The French national team coach, Didier Deschamps, has stated that he sees no issue with Mbappé joining the Olympic team, which will be led by Thierry Henry. Deschamps emphasized that if Mbappé desires to participate and has the opportunity, there would be no objections. The primary goal is to ensure that Thierry Henry has a competitive team for the tournament.
It’s important to note that Olympic football teams can include players up to the age of 23, with the allowance of up to three players older than that age in the squad.

The likelihood of Mbappé’s Olympic participation may also hinge on the ongoing transfer situation. Mbappé’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in the summer, and Real Madrid is considered the leading candidate to sign him, although Liverpool is also hopeful. After losing Messi and Neymar, PSG is determined to make significant efforts to retain their star player. Earlier reports suggested that Mbappé could potentially face a loss of at least 80 million euros.
