According to reports from Marca, the Frenchman did not attend Al-Ittihad’s pre-season training camp and, as instructed by the coach, will not be part of the upcoming tour the team is set to embark on this Sunday.
Benzema, like other team members, was expected to report to the club’s base in Jeddah on Friday, January 12, a requirement he reportedly did not fulfill.
As a result, coach Marcelo Gallardo has decided not to make exceptions and has excluded Karim from the trip to Dubai.
Sources indicate that Benzema had previously missed Al-Ittihad’s training sessions three times at the end of the past year, not waiting for the official break before the Christmas holidays.
Due to these incidents, Gallardo opted not to include Karim on the tour to Dubai, and the team will be without the star French forward.
In the current season, Karim Benzema has participated in twenty matches for Al-Ittihad, scoring fifteen goals and providing six assists.
