Frustrated Allegri Acknowledges Missed Opportunities as Juventus Slump

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri (56) admitted his disappointment following their 1-1 draw with Roma, a result that extends their poor run of form. Allegri’s post-match gestures, storming off the bench and throwing his jacket, reflected his frustration.

“We have regrets,” Allegri confessed to DAZN after the match. “There’s no denying we could’ve done better recently, but football can be cruel sometimes.”

Despite their struggles, Juventus haven’t completely lost hope. They can secure Champions League qualification in their next Serie A match against Salernitana. Additionally, they’ll contest the Coppa Italia final against Atalanta on May 15th.

“Our focus now needs to shift to the next game,” Allegri emphasized. “It’s a crucial Champions League qualifier, and then of course, there’s the Coppa Italia final.”

While acknowledging the need for improvement, Allegri pointed to missing players like Paul Pogba, Nicolo Fagioli, and Federico Chiesa as contributing factors.

Questions regarding Allegri’s future remained unanswered. “That’s for the club to decide,” he said. “Right now, our priority is the Coppa Italia final, and hopefully, we’ll celebrate Champions League qualification upon our return here.”
