Dominik Szoboszlai Awaits Euro Challenge with Hungary Squad Announcement by Rossi

Hungary’s aspirations for Euro 2024 rest significantly on the fitness and performance of their captain, Dominik Szoboszlai (23), who returns to the squad after missing the previous tournament due to injury. Manager Marco Rossi unveiled the squad on Tuesday, including Szoboszlai and Barnabas Varga, both of whom emerged as joint top scorers with four goals during the qualifying campaign, propelling Hungary to their third consecutive Euros appearance after a long absence since 1972.

Despite a promising start to his debut season at Liverpool, Szoboszlai has faced challenges in regaining form following his return from injury earlier this year. Rossi’s selection also features the seasoned presence of former Liverpool goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi.

Taking calculated risks, Rossi included veteran defenders Attila Fiola and Adam Lang in the 26-man squad, despite recent injury setbacks. The Italian tactician prioritizes experience as Hungary seeks to progress to the last 16 for the first time since 2016.
