Atalanta Secures Coppa Italia Final Berth with Late Surge Against Resilient Fiorentina

Atalanta clinched a spot in the Coppa Italia final after staging a remarkable comeback in the semi-final second leg against AFC Fiorentina, securing a 4-1 victory at the Gewiss Stadium. This victory marked Atalanta’s 10th win in 13 home games across all competitions, highlighting their formidable form on home turf.

Despite still serving a touchline ban, Atalanta’s manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, witnessed his side quickly erase their first-leg deficit against Fiorentina. Teun Koopmeiners struck early, finding the back of the net with a precise low shot into the far corner just eight minutes into the match, levelling the aggregate score.

Although Fiorentina enjoyed more possession, Atalanta created the more dangerous chances, with Gianluca Scamacca’s thunderous strike denied only by a foul in the buildup. The hosts continued to press forward, with Koopmeiners and Charles De Ketelaere coming close to extending their lead before halftime.
