Allegri Urges Juventus to Develop as a Team to Overcome Current Struggles After Salernitana Stalemate

Juventus must develop as a team to break free from their current struggles, manager Massimiliano Allegri remarked following their draw against relegated Salernitana on Sunday. Juve were on the brink of a humiliating Serie A defeat at home until Adrien Rabiot’s stoppage-time equalizer secured a 1-1 draw.

This marked the fifth consecutive league draw for Allegri’s squad, causing them to drop to fourth place, seven points behind second-placed AC Milan, and tied with Bologna at 67 points in third.

“Anyone who has played football understands that even the best teams can face challenging periods when matches get tough. We certainly need to grow,” Allegri commented.

The upcoming Italian Cup final against Atalanta on Wednesday offers a chance for redemption.

“The final against a team like Atalanta, which has significantly improved, will undoubtedly be balanced,” Allegri stated. “It’s a one-off match, and we must aim to minimize our mistakes.”

When questioned about his future at Juventus, Allegri emphasized his focus on finishing the season.

“Regarding my future, please be patient a bit longer. In 10-15 days, you will know what will happen next year,” he said.

Reflecting on the match, the 56-year-old acknowledged that the performance was unsatisfactory but highlighted that at least they avoided defeat.

“We started fairly well but then made poor decisions. We became disorganized and lost our positions,” he explained.

“You can’t afford to lose a match like that; otherwise, you risk never recovering.”
