Following IHC Esports’ disconnection, Geek Fam initiated a 10-minute pause on their behalf. After the pause, Geek Fam had the option to either use their own pause time or continue. They chose to unpause, swiftly pushing the mid-lane with all five heroes and securing victory in just 8 minutes and 48 seconds, thereby qualifying for the closed qualifiers’ finals.

Notably, Geek Fam’s decision not to use their pause timer further was within tournament rules, and there was no obligation for them to extend the pause.

IHC Esports’ position five support, Tugstur “Se” Dashzevge, explained the situation on Facebook, stating that the Acer tech team unexpectedly shut off their electricity, leading to the loss in Game 2. Despite Geek Fam lending their full pause time, the tech team couldn’t resolve the electricity issue in time.
