Bob Arum Revealed if Shakur Stevenson Can Make the Fight Against Vasyl Lomachenko
Prominent promoter Bob Arum recently addressed the possibility of a fight between IBF lightweight world champion Vasyl Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs) and WBC champion Shakur Stevenson (21-0, 10 KOs).
“Shakur will be a free agent after the fight on July 6. At that particular moment, we need to know what his plans are before we can voice our intentions to him because we may not be his promoters,” Arum explained.
He added, “If he re-signs his contract, we do have some very interesting fights for him. But I won’t go into details because he’ll be a free agent after July 6. He’s been a great fighter for us, we’ve enjoyed promoting his career, and we’ll see what happens next.”
Shakur Stevenson is scheduled to fight Artem Harutyunyan (12-1, 7 KOs) on July 6.
Previously, Bob Arum had discussed future plans for the undefeated Japanese champion Naoya Inoue.
