MLB Recap: Rockies Halt Guardians’ Streak, Orioles Dominate Red Sox

The Colorado Rockies halted the Cleveland Guardians’ nine-game winning streak with an 8-6 victory in Denver, fueled by Charlie Blackmon’s stellar performance. Blackmon, 37, homered, doubled twice, and drove in four runs, leading the Rockies to victory. The loss ended Cleveland’s longest winning streak since their American League-record 22-game run in 2017.

Due to general arm soreness, the Rockies’ original starter, Austin Gomber, was scratched, and Anthony Molina stepped in. However, Molina was pulled after just 1 2/3 innings, and Josh Rogers, whose contract was selected before the game, stepped up, allowing two runs and four hits in five innings. Jalen Beeks closed the game, securing his fifth save despite allowing a run in the ninth.

Jose Ramirez continued his impressive form for the Guardians, contributing two doubles and two RBIs, bringing his season total to 54 RBIs, the most in the majors. Tyler Freeman and Bo Naylor also had notable performances for Cleveland.
