The Chicago Cubs stunned the New York Mets with a come-from-behind victory. Mets starter Luis Severino held the Cubs hitless until the eighth inning, but Chicago clawed their way back. Christopher Morel delivered the knockout blow with a two-run homer in the top of the ninth, giving the Cubs a surprising 3-1 win.

The Yankees, who had scored in bunches recently, were unable to break through against Baltimore’s pitching staff.

Rays Pitch Past Brewers

The Tampa Bay Rays blanked the Milwaukee Brewers 1-0 on the strength of a stellar pitching performance. Ryan Pepiot tossed six scoreless innings, and three relievers combined to shut the door on the Brewers. The lone run of the game came in the first inning on a double-play grounder.
