Joe Joyce predicted whether Wilder would bring an end to his career
British heavyweight boxer Joe Joyce predicted whether Deontay Wilder would retire following a challenging loss to Joseph Parker in December. Despite Wilder initially hinting at the potential end of his boxing career after the fight, he retracted his statement.
“Of course, he’ll continue. He’s been ring rusty after being out of the ring for two years and Parker is a skillful fighter. It was a tough fight to come back to and he couldn’t land that big shot and was under fire the whole time, but he is always dangerous. There’s plenty of other fights and we can all mix it together,” Joyce stated.
It’s worth noting that Deontay Wilder suffered a clear points defeat against Joseph Parker at a boxing event in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, Joe Joyce proposed a bout between Parker and Daniel Dubois to ascertain who deserves a rematch with him.
Regarding Joyce, he faced two losses against Chinese heavyweight Zhāng Zhìlèi. In April 2023, the Briton lost his WBO interim champion title, followed by another defeat to the Chinese boxer in a rematch in September.
