Real Madrid will show patience with Guler after his debut, according to Ancelotti
Real Madrid will exercise patience with Turkish midfielder Arda Guler, affirmed manager Carlo Ancelotti, after the 18-year-old finally debuted in their 3-1 Copa del Rey victory over Arandina. Guler, who joined from Fenerbahce, showcased his talents after a six-month wait and multiple injuries. Ancelotti stressed the importance of gradual progress in fitness and intensity for Guler. Real Madrid comfortably advanced to the last 16 in La Liga with the triumph over Arandina.
“Guler performed well for an hour. It was important for him to get used to playing with the team. He will gradually build up his fitness level and intensity,” Ancelotti told the press.
“He must return; we just need to be patient with him. He demonstrated his quality in the first half.
It’s excellent that he has character and personality. Although he possesses tremendous left foot ability, character is a key component of success at Real Madrid.”
On Wednesday, Madrid will play host to rivals Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup semifinal.
