Genoa might potentially lose three points as a result
Due to a delay in filing their tax papers, Genoa could lose points in Serie A. Due to a procedural issue, the club was two to three days behind schedule in providing the necessary papers. The 16th of November was designated as the submission deadline for the report.
The Italian Football Federation’s Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into the club, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. The investigation’s results are still unknown; the team could receive a clean sheet or a deduction of one to three points.
Particularly, Genoa is playing in its first Serie A season following its comeback. With 21 points now accumulated, the squad is ranked 12th in the league rankings. The 20th round of Serie A will see Genoa meet Torino at home on January 13th.
