“Yes, it was a good victory. The first half was disappointing. We didn’t start in the best way. At halftime, I told the players that we need to raise the level of energy and speed to match Preston in this aspect; our opponent was charged,” stated Pochettino.
The second half, he observed, was drastically different. Chelsea was dominant, had many of opportunities, and should have won. According to Pochettino, the opposition had a lot of energy in the first half while the players lacked motivation. That’s why they were superior. Maurizio was not happy with this, but the team came back stronger in the second half and won the game well.
Pochettino continued by saying that it doesn’t matter who Chelsea plays in the FA Cup next. Since the “Blues” feel more at ease playing at Stamford Bridge, it is the most important thing.
It is important to remember that in the 1/32 final, Chelsea defeated Preston 4-0. Broja, Silva, Sterling, and Enzo all scored goals.
