Benfica has confirmed the signing of central striker Marcos Leonardo from Santos. The 20-year-old Brazilian has inked a contract with the Portuguese club, extending until the summer of 2029. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the transfer fee for Benfica amounts to €18 million plus additional bonuses.

Marcos Leonardo attracted interest from Benfica as well as from Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle, Roma, and even Real Madrid.
Leonardo appeared in 31 Brazilian Serie A games the previous season, tallying 13 goals and dishing out two assists. He also made seven appearances for the Brazilian U-20 national team, tallying seven goals.
