Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes throw Justin Tucker’s gear aside during the Ravens-Chiefs pregame warm-ups

The battle for turf in the AFC championship commenced early on Sunday, well before the Kansas City Chiefs secured their second conference title against the Baltimore Ravens. Chiefs standouts Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce engaged in a dispute with Ravens kicker Justin Tucker over warm-up space, leading to both Mahomes and Kelce discarding Tucker’s equipment.

Footage from one of the end zones at Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium captured the events. Tucker positioned his ball holder at the goal line, but Mahomes intervened by kicking it away while conducting warm-up passes from the end zone.

A verbal exchange ensued between Tucker and Mahomes, leading to Tucker placing the holder back in the same spot. However, Mahomes promptly picked it up and threw it aside.

Undeterred by the previous incidents, Tucker persisted. Shortly thereafter, he placed his helmet and two balls alongside the holder at the same spot on the goal line. Kelce then intervened; the Chiefs tight end picked up each item and discarded them to ensure an unobstructed warm-up path for his quarterback.

Tucker observed the scene with a smirk as he stretched a few yards away.

The tensions persisted at midfield as players returned from their respective locker rooms, fully geared up for the game.

There is ample space on the field for players from both teams to conduct their warm-ups. The videos did not provide clarity on why Tucker and the Chiefs players were utilizing the same area for their warm-up activities.
