Vinicius Junior called for putting racists in prison after the Maignan incident
Real Madrid‘s 23-year-old Brazilian winger, Vinicius Junior, expressed strong opinions on Twitter regarding a recent incident during the Serie A match between Milan and Udinese on January 20.
In the 35th minute of the match, the game was halted due to racist remarks directed at Devils goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
Vinicius tweeted the following message: “Just talking won’t change anything.” These are Maignan’s words. It’s time to incarcerate racists so they can face the consequences of their actions and feel shame for who they are.
“I appreciate those genuinely supporting our fight and lament those who only use empty words to seek sympathy from the media,” Vinicius added.
Vinicius himself has been a target of racist abuse on multiple occasions.
