Spain Star Alexia Putellas Commits to Barcelona until 2026
Barcelona’s prolific attacking midfielder, Alexia Putellas (30), has inked a contract extension until 2026, the esteemed Liga F club disclosed on Tuesday.
The recipient of the prestigious Ballon d’Or award in both 2021 and 2022, Putellas, who clinched the 2023 Women’s World Cup with Spain, has been an integral part of Barcelona since her days in the club’s academy. Her previous contract was set to expire at the culmination of the current season.
“Barcelona and Alexia Putellas have come to terms for the player to remain with the club for an additional two seasons until 30th June 2026, with the possibility of extending for a third year,” Barcelona affirmed in an official statement.
