The final will be a highly anticipated rematch of the epic Madrid final, which Swiatek won before the circuit moved to Rome.
21:50 CET – Nicolas Jarry (28) has become the second Chilean to secure a spot in the semi-finals at the Italian Open after coming from behind to beat Stefanos Tsitsipas (25) 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 in Rome.
It’s another surprise in a tournament full of upsets on the men’s side! Jarry will face Tommy Paul (26) for a place in the final.
18:11 CET – The relentless and formidable Iga Swiatek (22) continued her outstanding season and impressive clay court record with a commanding 6-4, 6-3 victory over Coco Gauff (20) to advance to the Rome final.
The American performed at a high level in the first set and challenged Swiatek, but the Polish four-time Grand Slam winner was simply too strong.
