European Spot Within Reach for Chelsea, Says Returning Captain Reece James
Chelsea can secure a top-five finish in the Premier League as they aim to end the season on a high note with renewed form, stated captain Reece James (24) following their 3-2 win at Nottingham Forest. The West London club overcame an early deficit to clinch three points on Saturday, courtesy of Raheem Sterling’s 80th-minute equalizer and Nicolas Jackson’s winner two minutes later.
James, making his first appearance in five months after undergoing hamstring surgery, provided the assist for Jackson’s decisive goal.
Under Mauricio Pochettino’s leadership, Chelsea, who have suffered with injuries and patchy performances from their youthful roster, have made notable progress in recent weeks. The two-time Champions League champions have quickly ascended the rankings.

“We’re finding a good level and maintaining consistency week in, week out. Despite our youth and occasional off days, we’ve improved and are finishing the season strong,” James told the club’s website.
“Europe represents one of the highest levels in club football, and as one of the biggest clubs, we aim to be in the Champions League every season. That’s our goal.”
