Juventus has secured a deal to transfer a defender from the French Ligue 1
Juventus is in the final stages of negotiating the acquisition of Lille’s defender, Thiago Djalo. Italian journalist Nicolo Schira reports that Juventus is set to pay around three million euros for the player, whose contract with Lille expires in the summer, with the potential for additional bonuses. Lille will also receive 10% from any future transfer of the player.
While Inter showed interest in Djalo, they are planning to sign the 23-year-old Portuguese defender as a free agent after the season. Djalo has been sidelined in the current season due to a knee injury, but during his time at Lille, he played in 102 matches and scored three goals. He played a significant role in Lille’s French championship victory in the 2020/21 season.
Previous reports suggested that Juventus was considering parting ways with a forward. Currently holding the second position in Serie A, Juventus trails Inter by two points.
